Fletchers completed Internal work on Manchester’s most talked-about new developments. The No.1 Spinningfields is 24 storeys high and home to 343,000 sqft of flexible office space and a skyline restaurant.

Fletchers effectively accelerated the basement program by modelling and prefrabricating the majority of the pipework off site before the basement was ready for occupation.

Traditionally used in the Utilites sector, the client wanted thin wall stainless steel pipework, due to it being lighter and corrosion resistant properties. Fletchers were chosen as they have a long history of using this type of pipework and have pioneered using it in the building services industry.

3,000 metres of thin wall stainless steel pipework up to 350mm diameter was used on the chilled water and heating plantroom installations. The gas installation ran from the basement to the 19th floor through the dedicated riser. Fletchers gas qualified engineers tested and purged this pipework upon completion.

Fletchers also designed, fabricated and installed a 5 ton pipebridge on the 20th floor plant deck to support chilled water pipework.
